Strawberries - Pick Your Own and Pre-Picked
2018 - Our 54th Season!
We welcome you and your family to The School at Altenburg's Farm, located in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. Over the last 50 years, we've raised a family, numerous crops of fruits and vegetables, and many memories on our farm. We invite you to grow memories on our farm and have a fun family farm experience.
Strawberry Picking

We will have about 8 acres for picking in 2018, including 4 new acres. The strawberry season usually runs for about 3 weeks in June. We pick part of the patch each day starting at 6:30 a.m. Berries are available to pick every day. We use the first-come/first-served system. How long we pick into the day depends on that day’s picking conditions, weather, and the number of pickers that come out to pick.
Fall Festival

Enjoy our pumpkin patch, farm market, and fall festival activities every day from Saturday, September 23 through Tuesday, October 31, 2017. We grow our own pumpkins for you to pick from the patch or from our farm market display. Enjoy fun fall activities daily and special events on weekends. There is no admission fee to our farm. We offer lots of fall activities, including tractor-driven hayrides on weekends. From Monday through Friday, we have a $5 Weekday Activity Package.
Fall Field Trips

We invite preschool and grade school classes to visit our farm and pumpkin patch for a field trip on weekdays in the fall. Children learn about a fruit and vegetable farm and have a fun farm experience. Farm Director Greg Gerdes provides each group with individual attention so everyone has a fun and educational visit.
